Ik geloof dat het komt door je doodeenvoudige converter of misschien hoe de Items-entiteit is gedefinieerd (ik heb boolean gebruikt) voor is uitgesloten en het lijkt goed te werken zonder de converter) .

Aanvullend
Ik denk dat uw probleem niet ligt bij de zoekopdracht, maar bij de CatViewItemList in die zin dat je de lijst met items vult met alle items die verband houden met de categorie, ongeacht/na de zoekopdracht (ook wel denk ik, de lijst met items in de categorie insluiten). Dit bracht me in verwarring omdat je alleen het specifieke gerelateerde item echt wilt (ik heb net de eerste in mijn code gepakt) b.v. cvwil.ItemList.get(0).isIsexcluded() en het geluk was dat 4 voor 5 komt, dus de isuitgesloten verschijnt als onwaar.
Ik denk dat je dit misschien moet benaderen vanuit de items, door lid te worden van de categorie, b.v. zoiets als

Ik heb de code op gitHub bijgewerkt om dit te doen (merk op dat ik de categorietabel heb gewijzigd om een unieke kolomnaam te hebben van categoryid in plaats van id.)
resultaten zijn nu (let op een andere categorie toegevoegd en nog 2 items in omgekeerde volgorde, d.w.z. het eerste item (id 7) is uitgesloten als waar, dan heeft id 8 onwaar):-
